April 2011

10 years ago, on April 28, Dennis Tito soared to space on  Soyuz rocket become the world’s first space explorer to fund his own trip to space. Dennis – Thank you for your contribution to opening the space frontier.

A few hours ago, I spoke @ FRED hosted by Steve Glenn of Living Homes. What a wonderful way to end a Wednesday. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to share my love of space. I don’t think there were any pics taken at the event – guess you had to be there.

For those who were there, I’m copying some of the items, events, etc I mentioned.

I think that’s enough for now. Ad Astra!

I attended the recent Space Access Conference  in Phoenix presented by Henry Vanderbilt and the Space Access Society.”Space Access conferences are designed to let people who are serious about low-cost space transportation get together, trade information, make deals, and learn useful things” (http://www.parabolicarc.com/page/2/?s=space+access+%2711&submit_x=23&submit_y=12&submit=Search).

I’m listing a series of blogs that covered the details of the conference. If you love rockets, this conference is for you.

I thought for Yuri’s Night it would be appropriate to post a mix that might work for spaceflight – whether are reaching the space in your dreams, staying aloft in orbit, or somewhere in between.

April 12, 2011 is the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight to space and we’re listing ways you can celebrate the first flight of a human to space.

  • Invite to Yuri’s Night, global space party.
  • First Orbit – a new film to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the flight of Yuri Gagarin. First Orbit will premiere on this channel on the 12th April 2011.

We’re still working through some technical issues on the site. There are several  items worthy of your attention.
